
As Canada’s Thanksgiving holiday approaches, Toronto residents are gearing up for a day of festivities and relaxation. While many services and stores will take the day off, there are still plenty of options available for those looking to make the most of their holiday.
Here’s a comprehensive guide to what will be open and closed in Toronto on Thanksgiving Monday.
Shopping and Groceries
- Most grocery stores and pharmacies will be closed on Monday.
- Some exceptions include T&T, Loblaws, Fresh and Wild Supermarket, and Whole Foods locations, but it’s advisable to check with your local store for their specific opening hours.
- All Beer Stores and LCBOs will remain closed on Monday.
- Several malls in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, including Fairview Mall, Yorkdale Mall, Shops at Don Mills, Sherway Gardens, Dixie Outlet Mall, Scarborough Town Centre, and Dufferin Mall.
- Malls that will be open include Eaton Centre, Square One Shopping Centre, Toronto Premium Outlets, Markville Mall, Pacific Mall, and Hillcrest Mall, but they will operate with adjusted hours.
Yorkdale
Although the mall is closed there are entertainment options and services that will be open including as follows:
- Joeys: 11am – 12am
- Cafe Landwer: 10am – 7pm
- Aburi Tora: 12pm – 9pm
- Cineplex: 12pm – 10:45pm
- Earls: 11pm – 12am
- Moxies: 11am – 12pm
Delivery Services
- Amazon will continue to deliver to commercial addresses, but same-day delivery will not be available on Monday.
- UPS locations across Canada will remain closed on the holiday.
Public Transit
- Go Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.
- The TTC will run on a holiday schedule.
Attractions
- Canada’s Wonderland will be closed from Thanksgiving until October 11.
- Ripley’s Aquarium is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The Royal Ontario Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- The CN Tower will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- The Toronto Zoo will be open with its regular operating hours, which are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
