
Commuters from Barrie to Toronto are stuck in the most unique of all the traffic jams this afternoon as a massive load of celery dumped on Highway 400 shutting down the southbound lanes south of Highway 9.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division has released images and videos depicting the aftermath of the rollover incident in the Holland Marsh region. They have advised that the highway will remain closed for several hours while crews deal with the overturned load of vegetables.

Although a tragic waste of crisp and fresh vegetables destined for crudite platters across the land, and a pain for those stuck in traffic, the incident did provide some good fodder for social media comics, as evidence by some choice selections below.

According to the OPP, traffic has been diverted onto Highway 9 while clean-up continues. The highway is expected to be closed for several hours.
